What We’re Doing to Help End Racism

While silence or ignorance is comfortable, it’s no longer an option. It’s never been an option for millions of Black Americans and we stand beside them as they continue to make their voices heard. Change is necessary and long overdue.

As a business, we create change with our dollars and our voice.

Here are the steps we are taking to help dismantle the existing system:

  1. We are joining the 15% pledge. As we don’t have shelf space, we pledge that at least 15% of our expenses will directly support black-owned businesses. As of today, we spend over 15% of our expenses with black-owned businesses.

  2. A monthly recurring donation to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

  3. Learn about and share information on environmental racism with clients as part of their work toward sustainability.

  4. Look for, consider and send feedback to webinars, events, and conferences on racial diversity and the need for additional black voices in spaces where they are lacking.

  5. Be open to feedback and learning from those that know more than us.

  6. As a founder, I pledge to read one book a month from this list.

We are open to feedback on this list and hope to learn from others about additional steps to create lasting change.
